AT 200 AM CST...A 997 MB...29.44 INCH SURFACE LOW WAS LOCATED OVER
SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN AND WAS MOVING EASTWARD. A COLD FRONT
EXTENDED SOUTH FROM THE LOW INTO THE SOUTHEAST AND INTO THE
NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO. AHEAD OF THE FRONT...PRECIPITATION WAS
FALLING PRIMARILY IN THE FORM OF RAIN. BEHIND THE FRONT AND NORTH
OF THE LOW...MUCH COLDER AIR WAS ALLOWING PRECIPITATION TO FALL
PRIMARILY IN THE FORM OF SNOW. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AND
SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED AREAS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY
SNOW...AS WELL AS WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 50 MPH...PRODUCING

CANADA BY SUNDAY NIGHT. SNOW ALONG WITH STRONG GUSTY WINDS ARE
EXPECTED TO SPREAD EASTWARD INTO THE GREAT LAKES...EASTERN OHIO
RIVER VALLEY AND THE APPALACHIANS ON SUNDAY. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL
AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 7 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS MOST OF MICHIGAN
TODAY...WITH 2 TO 4 INCHES POSSIBLE ACROSS MOST OF THE OHIO VALLEY
AND THE APPALACHIANS. RAIN WILL BE THE MAIN PRECIPITATION TYPE IN
THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE EAST COAST STATES...WITH A CHANGE TO
SNOW POSSIBLE IN SOME AREAS BEFORE PRECIPITATION COMES TO AN END
AS VERY COLD AIR MOVES IN BEHIND THE FRONT. HIGH WIND WILL ALSO BE
A CONCERN ACROSS PORTIONS OF UPSTATE NEW YORK AND NEW ENGLAND. AS
THE FRONT MOVES OFF INTO THE ATLANTIC ON MONDAY...AN ARCTIC
AIRMASS WILL SETTLE INTO THE EASTERN U.S...WITH WELL BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION.
