AT 900 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND SURFACE
OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A 991 MB SURFACE LOW LOCATED ALONG THE
SOUTHERN BORDER OF ILLINOIS AND INDIANA.  A COMBINATION OF
SNOW...FREEZING RAIN...AND RAIN WAS REPORTED NORTHWEST OF THE
SURFACE LOW...STRETCHING FROM CENTRAL MISSOURI...NORTHWARD ACROSS
ILLINOIS...AND NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE UPPER GREAT LAKES.  AHEAD OF
AN ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT...A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING
THROUGH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...TENNESSEE...AND NORTHERN GEORGIA.

THE LOW PRESSURE CENTER WILL QUICKLY TRACK NORTHEASTWARD OVER THE
OHIO VALLEY AND IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO CANADA BY SUNDAY EVENING.
 PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD NORTHWARD ACROSS EASTERN
PORTIONS OF THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND INTO THE UPPER GREAT
LAKES.  RAIN ACROSS THE AREA WILL GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO SNOW
OVERNIGHT ON SATURDAY...AS COLDER AIR MOVES IN ALOFT.  AN
ADDITIONAL SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED FOR NORTHERN
PORTIONS OF THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND NORTHEASTWARD INTO
THE UPPER GREAT LAKES.  A NARROW BAND OF GREATER THAN EIGHT INCHES
OF SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IS POSSIBLE NORTHWEST OF THE LOW TRACK. 
PERIODS OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ARE ALSO POSSIBLE BEFORE
PRECIPITATION TRANSITIONS TO ALL SNOW.  IN
ADDITION...THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SEVERE WEATHER WILL
CONTINUE TO BE A THREAT ACROSS THE EASTERN U.S. AS THIS STORM
SYSTEM MOVES INTO CANADA.

PREDICTION CENTER AT 400 AM CDT. PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LOCAL
