...EARLY SPRING SNOWSTORM BRINGING HEAVY SNOW AND BLIZZARD
CONDITIONS TO THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN HIGH PLAINS...ALONG WITH
HEAVY RAINS IN THE SOUTHEAST...

BLIZZARD WARNINGS...WINTER STORM WATCHES AND WARNINGS...AND WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FROM THE SOUTHERN
ROCKIES...EASTWARD INTO THE NORTHERN REGIONS OF THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS...NORTHWARD INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS...AND EASTWARD INTO THE
MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY.
 
FLOOD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT ACROSS THE CENTRAL GULF STATES.

AT 400 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND SURFACE
OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A 999 MB SURFACE LOW LOCATED OVER CENTRAL
TEXAS AND A STATIONARY BOUNDARY STRETCHED ACROSS CENTRAL TEXAS AND
THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES.  MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WAS
REPORTED IN PORTIONS OF NORTHERN TEXAS AND NORTHWARD INTO WESTERN
OKLAHOMA AND KANSAS. LIGHT SNOW IS BEING REPORTED IN THE SOUTHERN
ROCKIES.  LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WAS
REPORTED IN THE SOUTHEAST.

AS THE STRONG MID TO UPPER LEVEL LOW MOVES NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS
THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND INTO TO SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
TONIGHT...HEAVY SNOWS WILL SPREAD NORTH AND EASTWARD ACROSS THE
CENTRAL PLAINS AND INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. SNOWFALL
AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF A FOOT ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THESE AREAS.  IN
ADDITION...SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO OVER 50
MPH WILL PRODUCE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF
SNOW...MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE THREAT OF HEAVY SNOW
WILL SPREAD FURTHER NORTHEAST SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE UPPER MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND THE GREAT
LAKES.  MEANWHILE...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAINS WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST. 

THE NEXT STORM SUMMARY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL
PREDICTION CENTER AT 1000 PM CDT. PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LOCAL
