...NOREASTER WEAKENING...DECREASING COVERAGE AND INTENSITY OF RAIN
AND SNOW...

NUMEROUS FLOOD WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF
THE NORTHEAST INCLUDING MAINE...PORTIONS OF NEW
HAMPSHIRE...MASSACHUSETTS...RHODE ISLAND...CONNECTICUT...NEW
YORK...NEW JERSEY...AND EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA. IN ADDITION...FLOOD
WARNINGS CONTINUE FOR CERTAIN RIVERS ACROSS THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI
VALLEY AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF WESTERN MARYLAND...VIRGINIA...NORTH
CAROLINA AND EASTERN KENTUCKY.

ALL WINTER STORM WARNINGS HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO EXPIRE ACROSS THE
AFFECTED AREA...HOWEVER WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES REMAIN IN EFFECT
ACROSS PORTIONS OF MAINE.

AT 400 AM EDT...A WEAKENING 990 MB...29.24 INCHES...SURFACE LOW
PRESSURE CENTER WAS LOCATED ABOUT 100 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MONTAUK
POINT NEW YORK. A NEW LOW HAS DEVELOPED ABOUT 250 MILES EAST OF
CAPE COD MASSACHUSETTS...HOWEVER IT IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN
OFFSHORE. PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THIS STORM CONTINUES TO
ROTATE AROUND THE SURFACE LOW AND IS FALLING AS RAIN ACROSS THE
MID ATLANTIC COAST NORTHWARD TO MAINE. FROZEN PRECIPITATION IN THE
FORM OF FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW WAS MIXING IN ACROSS SECTIONS OF
MAINE AND ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE MID ATLANTIC AND
NORTHEAST. AS THE STORM SYSTEM SLOWLY MOVES OUT TO SEA...ANY
REMAINING AREAS OF RAIN...SNOW...AND STRONG WINDS WILL GRADUALLY
DIMINISH OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ACROSS THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS
AND NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND THIS MORNING. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ACROSS
THE APPALACHIANS SHOULD REMAIN LIGHT AND ANOTHER 2 TO 4 INCHES IS
POSSIBLE ACROSS WESTERN MAINE AND NORTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE. LIGHT TO
MODERATE RAIN WILL ROTATE AROUND THE SURFACE LOW AND IS FORECAST
TO DECREASE IN COVERAGE THIS MORNING...WITH ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF
LESS THAN ONE INCH EXPECTED. THE SYSTEM WILL FINALLY EXIT THE
REGION BY WEDNESDAY.
