HEAVY SNOW SPREADING INTO THE NEW ENGLAND STATES TONIGHT...

BLIZZARD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN PORTIONS
OF THE UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN...AS WELL AS NORTHWESTERN LOWER
MICHIGAN.

WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF THE REMAINING
PORTIONS OF THE UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF
NORTHERN WISCONSIN...MUCH OF VERMONT...NEW HAMPSHIRE AND WESTERN
MAINE.

A HEAVY SNOW WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN MAINE.
IN ADDITION...A SNOW ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF EASTERN
MAINE.

SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR A SMALL PORTION
OF THE UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF NEW
YORK...MASSACHUSETTS...SOUTHEASTERN NEW HAMPSHIRE...AS WELL AS
SOUTHERN MAINE.

AT 3 PM CDT...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WITH A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 992
MILLIBARS WAS LOCATED JUST NORTHEAST OF LAKE HURON. THIS LOW IS
FORECAST TO WEAKEN AS IT SLOWLY MOVES EAST NORTHEASTWARD OVER THE
NEXT 24 HOURS. A SECOND AREA OF LOW PRESSURE HAS DEVELOPED ALONG
THE MID ATLANTIC COAST AND IS EXPECTED TO TRACK NORTHWARD ALONG
THE EAST COAST. THIS SHOULD BRING A VARIETY OF WINTRY WEATHER TO
THE GREAT LAKES AND NORTHEASTERN STATES.

THE LATEST NOAA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS WERE SHOWING
SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS THE UPPER GREAT
LAKES REGION. FARTHER EAST OVER NEW ENGLAND...AN AREA OF MODERATE
TO HEAVY RAIN WAS STEADILY MOVING EASTWARD ACROSS
CONNECTICUT...MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND. ACROSS VERMONT...NEW
HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE...THE PRECIPITATION IS FALLING MOSTLY AS SNOW
WITH SOME AREAS RECEIVING SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.
