...SIGNIFICANT ICING...SNOW AND HEAVY RAIN LIKELY FOR PARTS OF THE
SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY...

ICE STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FROM NORTHEAST KANSAS INTO
NORTHERN MISSOURI. WINTER STORM WARNINGS...FOR A MIXTURE OF ICE
AND SNOW...ARE IN EFFECT FROM NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA ACROSS SOUTHEAST
KANSAS INTO NORTH-CENTRAL MISSOURI.

WINTER STORM AND HEAVY SNOW WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF
CENTRAL COLORADO. SNOW ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR EASTERN
COLORADO AND PORTIONS OF THE OKLAHOMA AND TEXAS PANHANDLES.

WINTER WEATHER AND SNOW ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT ACROSS CENTRAL
OKLAHOMA...NORTHERN TEXAS INTO NORTHWEST ARKANSAS...MUCH OF
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI...SOUTHEAST IOWA...AND WESTERN ILLINOIS.

A VERY STRONG COLD FRONT PUSHING ACROSS THE CENTRAL U.S. IS
BRINGING ARCTIC AIR INTO THE REGION...WHILE WARM MOIST AIR SURGES
NORTH FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO.  AN UPPER LEVEL STORM MOVING
THROUGH THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ROCKIES WILL MOVE INTO THE SOUTH
CENTRAL U.S. TODAY AND HELP TO INCREASE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
FROM THE SOUTHERN PLAINS INTO THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WITH
HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE. AS THE COLDER AIR ARRIVES SOME OF THE RAIN
WILL CHANGE TO FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW WITH SIGNIFICANT
ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE THROUGH THURSDAY.
 
AS THIS STORM MOVED THROUGH THE CENTRAL ROCKIES TUESDAY
NIGHT...SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AROUND ONE FOOT FELL ON THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS...WHILE ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 6 INCHES WERE MEASURED IN
THE LOWER ELEVATIONS. ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4
INCHES ARE EXPECTED OVER COLORADO INTO NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND
THE OKLAHOMA AND TEXAS PANHANDLES BY THURSDAY MORNING. ISOLATED 12
INCH AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF COLORADO. 

FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATIONS OF 0.10 TO 0.25 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE
FROM EASTERN OKLAHOMA NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH MISSOURI AND INTO
EASTERN IOWA AND WESTERN ILLINOIS.
