PUBLIC ADVISORY NUMBER 11 FOR REMNANTS OF GRACE
NWS HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL PREDICTION CENTER CAMP SPRINGS MD
10 PM CDT MON SEP 01 2003

CURRENT WATCHES/WARNINGS...FLOOD WATCHES REMAIN IN EFFECT THRU
TONIGHT OVER A RATHER BROAD AREA EXTENDING FROM THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE MID MISSISSIPPI AND OHIO VALLEYS
TO THE NORTHERN MID ATLANTIC REGION AS MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH
THE REMNANTS OF GRACE MOVES NORTHEASTWARD IN THE AREA OF A
STATIONARY FRONT DRAPED ACROSS THIS REGION. 

AT 10 PM CDT...03Z...THE REMNANTS OF GRACE WERE CENTERED NEAR
LATITUDE 34.4 NORTH...94.5 WEST...OR ABOUT 70 MILES NORTH
NORTHWEST OF TEXARKANA ARKANSAS. 

THE REMNANTS OF GRACE ARE NOW MOVING NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 15 MPH
AND ARE EXPECTED TO MAINTAIN THIS GENERAL MOTION OVER THE NEXT 12
TO 24 HOURS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 15 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS IN SOME
HEAVIER SHOWERS...MAINLY NORTH AND EAST OF THE CENTER. THE
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 29.85 INCHES...1011 MB.

THE REMNANTS OF GRACE CONTINUE TO ACQUIRE NON-TROPICAL
CHARACTERISTICS...AND HAVE MERGED WITH A STATIONARY FRONT WHICH
EXTENDS FROM EAST CENTRAL TEXAS NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE
LOWER
TO MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEYS AND THEN EASTWARD THROUGH THE OHIO
VALLEY TOWARD THE NORTHERN MID ATLANTIC STATES.  

THE REMNANTS OF GRACE WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE THE THREAT OF
HEAVY RAIN AS THEY TRACK GRADUALLY NORTHEASTWARD OVER THE NEXT
COUPLE OF DAYS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS OF 3 TO 5
INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVER PORTIONS OF THE MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
AND THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY.
