...THREAT OF FLOODING CONTINUES...

FLOOD WATCHES REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF EASTERN NEW
YORK...NORTHWESTERN CONNECTICUT...AND WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY
OF NEW YORK...WESTERN LONG ISLAND...AS WELL AS NEW YORK CITY AND
METROPOLITAN NEW JERSEY.

AT 1100 AM EDT...THE 992 MILLIBAR...29.29 INCHES LOW PRESSURE
CENTER WAS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES...80 KM...SOUTH OF
ISLIP...NEW YORK NEAR 40.1 NORTH...73.2 WEST...AND WAS MOVING
TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST AT APPROXIMATELY 21 MPH...18 KT...33
KM/H.  MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE ESTIMATED TO BE 40 MPH
OFFSHORE.

RECENT DOPPLER RADAR IMAGERY AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS SHOWED A
BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN MOVING NORTHWARD ACROSS LONG ISLAND
NEW YORK INTO SOUTHERN PARTS OF NEW ENGLAND. THE AREA OF HEAVY
RAIN OVER NEW JERSEY WAS BEGINNING TO PULL OUT TO SEA.
ELSEWHERE...AREAS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WERE SEEN MOVING
ACROSS CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND.
