NPVU - Information Log 2005
12 January 2006: December 2005 QPF verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
CAUTION: QPF verification statistics may be suspect due to potential problems with gridded precipitation analyses in frozen precipitation situations. This would be particularly evident in those RFC domains in the northern part of the country.
12 December 2005: November 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
WARNING: I had problems with both NWRFC and OHRFC. There statistics are not correct and the problem is being worked on. As soon as they are fixed the statistics will be fixed. This problem may have some impact on the CONUS statistics.
CAUTION: QPF verification statistics may be suspect due to potential problems with gridded precipitation analyses in frozen precipitation situations. This would be particularly evident in those RFC domains in the northern part of the country.
10 November 2005: October 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
12 October 2005: September 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's , WFO's and the CONUS are now available.
WARNING: I had problems with both NWRFC and OHRFC. There statistics are not correct and the problem is being worked on. As soon as they are fixed the statistics will be fixed. This problem may have some impact on the CONUS statistics.
13 September 2005: August 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
Statistics for both RFC 32km and 4km as well as WFO for 32km and 4km are now being produced.
9 August 2005: July 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
The problem with ABRFC's data has now been fixed.
12 July 2005: June 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
WARNING:There is a problem with the ABRFC forecast for June 2005. Do not use or trust their statistics. This will also make the Conus statistics suspect. This problem is being worked on and when a solution is found I will update the statistics if possible.
10 June 2005: May 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
WARNING:There is a problem with the ABRFC forecast for May 2005. Do not use or trust their statistics. This will also make the Conus statistics suspect. This problem is being worked on and when a solution is found I will update the statistics if possible.
09 May 2005: April 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecast for all RFC's and the CONUS are now available.
08 April 2005: March 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecasts for all RFCs and the CONUS are now available.
October 2004-March 2005 cold season statistics are also completed.
NOTE: The problem with NWRFC's data has been fixed and the statisitcs for January and February 2005 have been rerun.
CAUTION: QPF verification statistics may be suspect due to potential problems with gridded precipitation analyses in frozen precipitation situations. This would be particularly evident in those RFC domains in the northern part of the country.
10 March 2005: February 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecasts for all RFCs and the CONUS are now available. HPC's Mountain Mapper has had some technical dificulties and can not be included this month. Comparison plots are in the process of being created.
You will also notice that the Eta has been changed to NAM on all new graphics.
NOTE: There has been a problem with NWRFC's forecast for most of February so the February 2005 NWRFC statistics are not correct. When the problem has been solved and corrected the statistics will be updated.
CAUTION: QPF verification statistics may be suspect due to potential problems with gridded precipitation analyses in frozen precipitation situations. This would be particularly evident in those RFC domains in the northern part of the country.
09 February 2005: January 2005 verification statistics of 6-hourly QPF forecasts for all RFCs and the CONUS are now available.
NOTE: There has been a problem with NWRFC's forecast for most of January so the January 2005 NWRFC statistics are not correct. When the problem has been solved and corrected the statistics will be updated.
CAUTION: QPF verification statistics may be suspect due to potential problems with gridded precipitation analyses in frozen precipitation situations...this would be particularly evident in those RFC domains in the northern part of the country.
