Day 4-7 "Delta" Fields (last updated 6/23/03)

The images on these pages are graphical representations of the "delta"
grids being generated by HPC in support of the days 4 -7 public
forecasts. Delta grids depict the difference between the current NDFD forecast
and what HPC forecasters believe the latest model guidance supports.
They are meant to identify areas where collaboration between the HPC and
selected WFOs may be beneficial. View available products
Delta grids are generated and distributed twice daily at 1430Z and 1900Z.
The patch needed to allow AWIPS to ingest these grids is included in OB1.1. However,
in order to view the delta grids, a site must have both OB1.1 and IFPS 13.2 installed.
NOTE: An unmodifiable cron job currently prevents the 1430Z delta grids
to be processed properly at the WFOs. MDL and FSL are aware of this bug.

NOW AVAILABLE: A VISIT teletraining session "HPC ROLE IN THE NDFD" helps provide
more detail on what grids HPC will provide in support of the NDFD (why they are produced, how to
access the grids, what times they are available). To view a calendar of when this session will be presented,
