FARTHER NORTH...THE SUBEQUATORIAL RIDGE EXTENDS WEST ACROSS THE
TROPICAL ATLANTIC TO THE GUIANAS. IN A DIVERGENT PATTERN
ALOFT...SCATTERED CONVECTION IS CLUSTERING ALONG THE NEAR
EQUATORIAL TROUGH OVER NORTHERN BRASIL TO NORTHERN JUNGLE OF
PERU/SOUTHERN COLOMBIA.

HIGH NEAR 28S 102W. FARTHER EAST...SHORT WAVE PERTURBATIONS ARE
STREAMING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN CONE. ONE EXTENDS FROM A CLOSED LOW
OVER PATAGONIA IN ARGENTINA...ACROSS CENTRAL CHILE TO A CYCLONIC
MAXIMA AT 33S 83W. ANOTHER TO THE EAST CENTERS ON A CLOSED LOW
OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC NEAR 46S 55W. THESE ARE PRESSING AGAINST
