SYNOPSIS (VALID FROM DECEMBER 08 AT 00UTC): THE 200 HPA ANALYSIS
SHOWS A CLOSED HIGH OVER THE FAR EASTERN PACIFIC CENTERING OFF THE
COAST OF PERU NEAR 13S 80W. THIS EXTENDS A RIDGE TO THE SOUTHEAST
ACROSS NORTHERN CHILE/SOUTHERN BOLIVIA-PARAGUAY TO THE WESTERN
ATLANTIC. THE RIDGE ALOFT UNDERCUTS A NARROW/ELONGATED TROUGH THAT
STRETCHES ALONG 30S 25W...23S 40W...SAO PAULO/MATO GROSSO DO SUL
TO EASTERN BOLIVIA. THE TROUGH ALOFT IS ENHANCING DIURNAL
CONVECTION ACROSS CENTRAL-EASTERN PORTIONS OF BRASIL...WITH MOST
INTENSE CLUSTERING ACROSS TOCANTINS-GOIAS TO WESTERN BAHIA.

52W...RIO DE LA PLATA BASIN TO NORTHERN MENDOZA IN ARGENTINA. THIS
IS PROVIDING DYNAMICAL SUPPORT TO ORGANIZED DEEP CONVECTION ACROSS
THE NORTHWEST PROVINCES.
