RIDGE OVER THE CONTINENT. THE RIDGE ALOFT IS VENTING DEEP
CONVECTION ACROSS AMAZONAS-ACRE IN BRASIL TO CENTRAL/NORTHERN
BOLIVIA AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF ECUADOR. ALSO AT UPPER LEVELS...A
SHORT WAVE TROUGH EXTENDS ALONG 15S 30W...05S 40W...TO ILHA DE
MARAJO. THIS FAVORS WIDELY ISOLATED CONVECTION ALONG THE NORTH
COAST OF BRASIL.

AT 250 HPA...THE SOUTHERN POLAR HAS ITS ENTRANCE AT 52S
110W...THEN ALONG 50S 104W...A 138KT MAXIMUM AT 45S 90W...EXITING
AT 41S 83W. A FINGER OF THE SOUTHERN POLAR EXTENDS BETWEEN 42S 72W
AND 50S 58W. ANOTHER FINGER EXTENDS BETWEEN 52S 51W AND 41S 40W.
THE NORTHERN POLAR HAS ITS ENTRANCE AT 28S 91W...ALONG 31S 81W...A

SUBTROPICAL JET HAS ITS ENTRANCE AT 16S 98W...ALONG 17S 92W...21S

AT 500 HPA...LOW AMPLITUDE RIDGE ON THE NORTHERN STREAM EXTENDS
BETWEEN 120W-100W TO 40S. A SHORT WAVE TROUGH TO THE SOUTH LIES
ALONG 100W TO 45S. THE LATTER IS FEEDING INTO A HIGH AMPLITUDE
TROUGH TO THE EAST...AS THE LATTER EXTENDS FROM TIERRA DEL
FUEGO...ALONG 40S 78W...30S 85W...TO 25S 95W. A NORTH-TO-SOUTH
RIDGE TO THE EAST EXTENDS ALONG 30S 55W...50S 55W..TO THE WEDDELL
SEA. DOWNSTREAM FROM THIS AXIS...A TROUGH EXTENDS BETWEEN 50W-10W
AND TO THE SOUTH OF 35S. THIS IS PHASING WITH A SHORT WAVE VORTEX
TO THE NORTH...AS IT EXTENDS FROM A CYCLONIC MAXIMUM AT 30S

AT LOW LEVELS...A RIDGE ON THE NORTHERN STREAM OVER THE EASTERN
PACIFIC CENTERS ON A 1033 HPA HIGH AT 32S 101W. SOUTH OF THIS
AXIS...A POLAR TROUGH EXTENDS ACROSS THE SOUTHERN CONE WHILE
ANCHORING ON AN OCCLUDED 982 HPA LOW AT 56S 77W. IT EXTENDS A
FRONT ALONG 58S 82W...A 986 HPA LOW AT 65S 76W...63S 68W...58S
65W...A 986 HPA LOW AT 56S 68W...55S 66W...49S 60W...43S 62W...A
1010 HPA LOW AT 40S 66W...CENTRAL CUYO IN ARGENTINA...WEAKENING
OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC. THIS SUSTAINS SCATTERED RAINS ACROSS
