GROSSO DO SUL IN BRASIL. A TROUGH TO THE EAST AND NORTH EXTENDS
ALONG 14S 27W...10S 35W...TO NORTHEAST BRASIL. THE TROUGH IS
ENHANCING CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT ACROSS NORTHEAST BRASIL...WHILE
THE RIDGE IS VENTING DIURNAL CONVECTION TO THE WEST ACROSS
PARA-AMAZONAS IN BRASIL TO SOUTHERN COLOMBIA/EASTERN ECUADOR AND
PORTIONS OF PERU. MOST ACTIVE CONTINUES TO CLUSTER ALONG THE NEAR
EQUATORIAL TROUGH TO THE NORTH.

THE LATTER INLAND ACROSS CENTRAL CHILE TO ARGENTINA. THE DEEP
TROUGH CENTERS ON A CLOSED LOW OVER NEUQUEN/LA PAMPA IN
ARGENTINA...AND IT IS FOCUSING SHORT WAVE ENERGY ACROSS MID
SECTIONS OF ARGENTINA... WHERE IT FAVORS ORGANIZED DEEP
CONVECTION. A SKEWED LONG WAVE RIDGE TO THE EAST EXTENDS FROM
CHACO PARAGUAYO-SOUTHERN BRASIL...40S 55W...LAS MALVINAS/FALKLAND
ISLANDS TO THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA. A BROAD LONG WAVE TROUGH TO
THE EAST DOMINATES FLOW BETWEEN 40W-00W AND TO THE SOUTH OF 15S.

THE SURFACE ANALYSIS SHOWS A RIDGE OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC THAT
CENTERS ON A 1025 HPA HIGH AT 30S 90W. A BROAD TROUGH LIES TO THE
SOUTH...CENTERING ON AN OCCLUDED 962 HPA LOW AT 60S 93W. A POLAR
FRONT REVOLVES AROUND THIS TROUGH AS IT EXTENDS ALONG A 1000 HPA
LOW AT 56S 41W...52S 45W...52S 52W...56S 67W...A 986 HPA LOW AT
58S 79W...51S 76W...A 1002 HPA LOW AT 48S 80W...42S 79W...A 1014
HPA LOW AT 41S 82W...36S 85W...AND 31S 96W. A FRONT TO THE NORTH
LIES ALONG A 1006 HPA LOW AT 33S 20W...27S 24W...26S 34W...ALONG
THE COAST OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL/URUGUAY TO A 1002 HPA LOW AT 40S
64W...THEN NORTH ACROSS LA PAMPA TO MENDOZA IN ARGENTINA. THIS IS
TRIGGERING ORGANIZED HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS CENTRAL PROVINCES IN
