NORTHEAST BRASIL/THE GUIANAS. A NEAR ZONAL WESTERLY FLOW ENVELOPS
PERU-BOLIVIA AND WESTERN/CENTRAL PORTIONS OF BRASIL...WITH AN
EMBEDDED SHORT WAVE PERTURBATION STREAMING ACROSS PERU TO ACRE IN
BRASIL. THIS TRIGGERED ISOLATED CONVECTION ALONG THE SIERRA OF
PERU AND THE ALTIPLANO OF BOLIVIA. OTHERWISE...FAIR WEATHER
CONDITIONS PREVAIL ACROSS NORTHERN SOUTH AMERICA.

FOCUSING SHORT WAVE ENERGY INTO CENTRAL PORTIONS OF CHILE AND
ARGENTINA. A SKEWED RIDGE TO THE EAST EXTENDS FROM TOCANTINS/GOIAS
IN BRASIL...ACROSS PARAGUAY/ ARGENTINA TO THE WESTERN
ATLANTIC...WHERE IT MERGES WITH A SHORT WAVE RIDGE THAT EXTENDS
FROM A HIGH NEAR 46S 53W TO THE DRAKE PASSAGE. A SHORT WAVE TROUGH
TO THE NORTH IS STREAMING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN STATES OF BRASIL.
FARTHER EAST...A BROAD TROUGH DOMINATES FLOW ACROSS THE
CENTRAL/EASTERN SOUTH ATLANTIC...AS IT BOUNDS BETWEEN 40W-10E.

AT LOW LEVELS...A BROAD TROUGH DOMINATES THE FAR EASTERN PACIFIC
AND THE SOUTHERN CONE OF SOUTH AMERICA. POLAR FRONTS REVOLVE
