AMAPA TO NORTHERN PARA IN BRASIL.

AT 250 HPA...THE JET ANALYSIS SHOWS A FINGER OF THE SOUTHERN POLAR
WITH ENTRANCE AT 66S 79W...ALONG 56S 56W...51S 41W...EXITING AT
46S 26W. IT REFORMS AT 37S 86W...THEN ALONG 50S 68W...A 161KT
MAXIMUM AT 47S 42W...EXITING AT 35S 25W. THE NORTHERN POLAR LIES
ALONG 42S 120W...28S 103W...28S 96W...30S 89W...A 143KT MAXIMUM AT

129KT MAXIMUM AT 37S 70W...39S 55W...35S 45W...EXITING AT 26S 41W.
IT REFORMS AT 16S 37W...THEN ALONG 18S 28W...22S 15W...AND A 124KT
MAXIMUM AT 26S 00W.

AT 500 HPA...A BROAD TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC ENVELOPS AREA
BETWEEN 110W-70W AND TO THE SOUTH OF 18S...WHILE CENTERING ON A
CLOSED LOW AT 47S 89W. THE TROUGH IS PRESSING AGAINST A RIDGE TO
THE EAST THAT EXTENDS SOUTH FROM SOUTHERN BRASIL TO PATAGONIA IN
ARGENTINA. SOUTH OF THIS AXIS...A SHORT WAVE TROUGH ON THE
SOUTHERN STREAM FLOW IS INITIALIZED ALONG 50W TO 50S. A HIGHER
AMPLITUDE TROUGH LIES TO THE EAST...DOMINATING AREA BETWEEN
33W-00W AND TO THE SOUTH OF 20S.

AT LOW LEVELS...BROAD TROUGH DOMINATES FLOW ACROSS THE FAR EASTERN
PACIFIC WHILE CENTERING ON AN OCCLUDED 994 HPA LOW AT 57S 88W.
THIS SUSTAINS A POLAR FRONT THAT EXTENDS FROM AN OCCLUDED 1006 HPA
LOW AT 48S 55W...A 1002 HPA LOW AT 45S 51W...41S 56W...39S 65W...A
