THE SUBEQUATORIAL RIDGE TRAVERSES THE TROPICAL ATLANTIC ALONG 02N
TO THE GUIANAS...ANOTHER CELL TO THE SOUTH EXTENDS ALONG 08S/10S

SEPARATES THESE RIDGES. THIS IS VENTING ORGANIZED DEEP CONVECTION
ALONG THE ITCZ INTO THE NEAR EQUATORIAL TROUGH OVER NORTHEAST
BRASIL-AMAZON RIVER DELTA REGION/AMAPA AND PORTIONS OF PARA IN
BRASIL. FARTHER WEST...A SHORT WAVE TROUGH MEANDERS OFF THE COAST
OF PERU/ECUADOR ALONG 82W. THIS IS ENHANCING CONVECTION ACROSS
ECUADOR AND NORTHERN PERU.

AT 250 HPA...THE JET ANALYSIS SHOWS THE SOUTHERN POLAR WITH
ENTRANCE AT 61S 95W...A 141KT MAXIMUM AT 72S 80W...73S 60W...73S
50W...66S 34W...EXITING AT 60S 31W. THE NORTHERN POLAR HAS ITS
ENTRANCE AT 38S 104W...ALONG A 120KT MAXIMUM AT 39S 101W...A 129KT
MAXIMUM AT 45S 96W...A 150KT MAXIMUM AT 57S 87W...A 135KT MAXIMUM
AT 66S 79W... EXITING AT 68S 54W. IT REFORMS AT 63S 43W...THEN
ALONG 55S 42W...A 122KT MAXIMUM AT 51S 59W...EXITING AT 46S 66W.
IT THEN HAS A FINGER THAT LIES BETWEEN 41S 62W AND 39S 54W. THE
SUBTROPICAL JET HAS ITS ENTRANCE AT 46S 78W...ALONG 36S

AT 500 HPA...MID LEVEL ANALYSIS SHOWS A NARROW/ELONGATED RIDGE
OVER THE FAR EASTERN PACIFIC...WITH AXIS SOUTHEAST FROM A CLOSED
HIGH AT 20S 100W...THEN ALONG 40S 87W...A HIGH AT 43S 80W...TIERRA
DEL FUEGO TO THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULA/WEDDELL SEA. BROAD TROUGH TO

CLOSED LOW NORTH OF THE MALVINAS/FALKLAND ISLANDS. ANOTHER TROUGH
ON THE NORTHERN STREAM MEANDERS OFF THE COAST OF CHILE WHILE
CENTERING ON A CLOSED LOW AT 36S 78W. THIS IS FOCUSING SHORT WAVE
