SUBTROPICAL HIGH NOW CENTERS NEAR 05S 78W. THIS EXTENDS A RIDGE TO
THE SOUTHEAST ACROSS PERU-BOLIVIA-NORTHERN ARGENTINA-RIO DE LA
PLATA BASIN. A BROAD TROUGH LIES TO THE EAST...WITH AXIS BETWEEN
60W-30W AND TO THE SOUTH OF 04N. BEST DIVERGENCE ALOFT REMAINS
NEAR THE UPPER RIDGE OVER BRASIL-NORTHERN BOLIVIA...WHERE IT IS
VENTING ORGANIZED DEEP CONVECTION. IT WAS ALSO VENTING DIURNAL
CONVECTION ON THE SOUTHERN SIERRA OF PERU AND THE ALTIPLANO OF
BOLIVIA. UPPER CONVERGENT PATTERN ACROSS CENTRAL-EASTERN BRASIL IS
INHIBITING DEEP CONVECTION TO THE EAST.

47W TO 36S 47W. EAST OF THIS AXIS...FLOW SPLITS BETWEEN A SHORT
WAVE TROUGH TO THE NORTH AND A LOW AMPLITUDE RIDGE TO THE EAST.
THE TROUGH LIES BETWEEN 38W-15W AND TO THE NORTH OF 34S...WHILE
THE RIDGE EXTENDS BETWEEN 40W-00W AND TO THE SOUTH OF 38S.
